-
My biggest "failure" has been dedicating many years to obtaining a master's degree, accruing supervision hours, etc., and failing the BCBA exam 7 times. Now that I am in a different mindset, I have learned that I am more than that exam and this was just part of the journey which has now led me to my dream project.
-
My entire life, people have always misunderstood me as a whole. I never had a group of friends. I would be made fun of, bullied, etc. It wasn't until high school that I bloomed and then people wanted my attention. People are generally surprised to find out that I am AuDHD. Since getting my dx I have been more open and honest because this is my journey and I went 31 years without knowing and I'm not scared of what anyone thinks about me anymore.

The connections I make within the community and the ability to offer a different perspective as a neurodivergent professional/mother to a neurodivergent child. I also love to celebrate the small wins. As someone who has always focused on the bigger picture, I now am able to slow down and enjoy the little things and the small wins.

A wildflower.
"She was like a wildflower. Wild and free, gorgeously chaotic. An untamed soul growing out from darkness."
ABOUT Brittany
Brittany Madruga, MA (Masters in Applied Behavior Analysis, Bachelors in Human Services, Associates in Early Childhood Education)
I am Brittany Madruga, the proud owner of Peaceful Petals LLC. As a dedicated behavior consultant, my commitment to this field is profoundly influenced by my neurodiversity. My educational background is distinguished by a Master's Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, and an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education. Over the course of 15 years, I have accumulated extensive experience in working with neurodivergent children and adults.
My journey took a transformative turn when I was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) at the age of 22, followed by an Autism diagnosis at 31. These revelations empowered me to harness the unique qualities that come with neurodivergence. I wholeheartedly embrace my neurodiversity as a strength, one that has consistently allowed me to excel in my career.
Throughout my professional career, my neurodivergence has been instrumental in my ability to provide exceptional behavioral consultation services to clients with diverse diagnoses, including Autism, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Anxiety Disorders, Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder (DMDD), Down Syndrome, Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD), and beyond. My unparalleled attention to detail, problem-solving skills, remarkable capacity for hyperfocus, and innate ability to recognize patterns and connections that offer differing opinions and insight during collaborations with fellow professionals and organizations.
Beyond my professional commitments, I am an advocate for the inclusion of neurodiversity. I actively engage in initiatives that strive to foster greater accessibility and inclusivity in workplaces, classrooms, and communities. I live in Plymouth, MA with my husband, 4-year-old son, our 2 dogs (Hooch and Stella), and our cat (Pebbles). I enjoy cooking, gardening, spending time at the beach, and living life my truest self.
My mission is to ensure that individuals of all neurodivergent backgrounds find a welcoming and supportive environment in which they can thrive.
