I think books are a great way of getting someone's life experience in a digestible format. We come across people who don't want us to learn about other people's perspectives because they only want their own narrative heard, or they don't want us being educated or understanding the difficulty, or the discrimination, or the continuous fight that someone has to go through.
Books are a really great way of showing like, No, I want to be more educated on this. I want this voice to be heard. I'm not going to let some regime prevent me from understanding this lived experience or understanding what I could be doing better as a human being or a person on this earth.

Younger Priscilla, do it. Just go for it. You never know what's going to come out on the other side.
I think sometimes we have so many things holding us back or preventing us. Even now, I'm not just me, I'm someone in a family. So now I have to think about my family as a whole, as a collective.
Also, save everything. You wrote that potty training program. It took you six hours. Girl, you better print it out and save it!
(And work on your Spanish so you can marry that incredibly handsome guy!)

A chilaquiles plate will always tell me what kind of vibe I'm getting into. Is this modern Mexican cooking with second, third generation in the kitchen who have put this American spin on it, or am I dealing with somebody that ate this when they were younger and it didn't have the flare that it does. You can really tell.

Balance is dynamic. Some days will require more in one area versus another, and it's remembering that when you're part of a community, that community also wants you to take care of yourself.
One of the things I do is go to Korean spa with people. You are completely nude. You're not in a rush, and no one needs you. You just need you. The thing I love about it the most is no one speaks, and I'll take a podcast with me or an audio book for when I’m in the common area, and let my mind wander. It's just so soothing. After a day doing that, I come home and feel reset, rested.
During the week, I'm going to be pulled over here and there for work, but if I think I'm working too hard; if I think I'm giving a company or a position too much of me, I really reevaluate that. Do they need me or does my community need me? If I'm going above and beyond for a parent, or a family, or a client, and that's filling my cup, that's awesome. If I'm doing it because someone wants me to hit a billable quota, I really take a step back. My time can be shifted elsewhere.
