I was introduced to breathwork a few years back. It's something I was interested in because I really wanted to be able to feel my feelings and sit with them— that was accessible through breathwork. Every time there was a breathwork offering or I met someone who did breathwork I would ask them a lot of questions about it.
Then in my business cohort there was someone who offered breathwork, and my experience with her was unlike any other breathwork experience I had. I booked a discovery call for the certification program that day.

As much as I loved working as a behavior analyst, as I moved up I moved farther and farther away from my why— which is helping people individually. The longer you're in the field, you tend to take on leadership roles and positions, so I wasn't coming into contact with the families anymore. I wasn't supporting the children anymore.
Of course, I was providing mentorship and supporting staff and individuals who were working towards BCBA certification, but I reached this point where I was like, “Okay Robyn, what are you going to do with your life when you grow up?” I thought I had it figured out but something wasn't sitting right with me.
I got this wild idea to hire a career coach at 30-something years old. At the end of the day, all of my strengths lended itself to coaching. It reminds me of the early days when I became a behavior analyst, where I was coming into contact with who and what mattered.

I would have told myself to lean into my insecurities. I'm an empath, so I feel deeply. I mean, that's why I'm on this path. That's why I do breathwork. That's why I do coaching.
For so long, I let it limit me. I was kind of embarrassed by my empathy. I thought it was a weakness.
I would have told myself to lean into it. This is your superpower. This is how you help others.
